Mark Mennie Photography attended the Air Medical Memorial Services with a heavy heart especially for home.....

Mark's latest travels find him giving back to his beloved air medical family.  With a very heavy and conflicted heart for all his friends affected by the flood in Calgary and southern Alberta, Mark completed his AMTC 2013 photo project and then traveled from DC to Denver, to join many of his colleagues and friends at the Air Medical Memorial Service on June 21st.  In addition to debuting his moving Memorial Light Tribute, which was in the making since the Seattle AMTC and plans for it to travel back to Virginia Beach.  For more information on this endeavor please click here.  Mark also attended the 7am service of over 150 attendees held in Littleton, CO.  For more information about AMM and its mission visit airmedicalmemorial.com.  Mark also attended a more formal event on Saturday night in Colorado Springs; the National EMS Memorial Service, who's mission is to honor and remember those men and women of America's Emergency Medical Services who have given their lives in the line of duty. Full with a Color Guard, individual presentations of a medal and flag to family members, and a touching poem by closing speaker Craig Yale. For more information on this event please visit www.nemsms.org.  In an attempt to keep this short, I will let Mark's imagery accurately paint these touching events.  Before I close though I would like to leave you with two things.  Again we would like to say that our hearts and prayers go out to all of Mark's friends in Calgary and fellow Albertans suffering from the great flood of 2013 and lastly leave you with a poignant poem by Mary Frye that was read by Craig at the end of Craig's speech pretty much says it all.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.

I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush

Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the star shine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.

am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there.  I do not die.

Until next time.....
